Team in Training --who they are

Team in Training(TNT) is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s signature fund raiser. TNT was born in 1988 when Bruce Cleland, a volunteer with the Westchester/Hudson Valley, New York Chapter of the Society, developed a team, a name, and a training approach for a fund-raising campaign in honor of his daughter, Georgia. Georgia was diagnosed with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL). Bruce and his teammates completed the 1988 New York Marathon, raising $320,000 for the Society.
The Society has invested more than $600 million in research, $64.7 million in 2007 alone. But more needs to be done. Thanks to research supported by the Society, the survival rates for leukemia have tripled in the last 40 years, from 14% in 1960 to 50% in 2003. The survival rate for children with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL- the most common form of childhood leukemia) is at 81%, up from only 4% in 1960
